Treatment
Psychotherapy is informed by current psychotherapeutic techniques, including psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral interventions, interpersonal therapies, family systems theory, and dyadic modalities. We provide verbal therapy, play therapy, treatment of primary care givers and very young children, and couples/family therapy.
Psychopharmacology is offered when appropriate. Education about medications, side effects, expectations, and monitoring is provided both before medication is initiated and during maintenance phases of treatment.
Cognitive and Academic Remediation provides education, skill development, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, and supportive coping mechanisms. Treatment facilitates the development of compensatory strategies and environmental adaptations.
